blessed friday

no matter what we've been doing throughout the week, wether were in the middle of a project or maybe half way through a lapbook, on friday we do nothing else except the rememberence of allah.

this was one of the major factors when i was thinking of homeschooling, if my children were going to a state school then they would have missed attending jumuah prayer for the first eleven years of their life for sure.

so in our house friday is a special day!

it is the sunnah to treat friday as if it were like the day of eid

Rasulullah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said: "The person who has a bath on Friday, purifies himself as far as possible, applies oil to his hair, applies perfume, leaves for the musjid, when he arrives at the musjid he does not sit down by removing anyone from his place, offers as many nafl salaats as possible, when the imam delivers the khutbah he remains silent - then his sins from the previous jumu'ah till now will be forgiven. " (Bukhari)

i am grateful that i have the opportunity to give the day if jumuah the importance that it deserves.
